Small modular nuclear reactors and net-zero carbon emissions by 2050? The math doesn’t add up

INRAG member M.V, Ramana wrote an opinion piece for The Hill Times on small modular reactors and their role in the struggle for zero carbon emissions by 2050. Ramana argues that the evidence for SMR proponents’ claim that plant costs would be rapidly reduced by “assembly line” manufacturing and other learnings is thin to nonexistent.
