Nikolaus Müllner | Friederike Frieß in austrian newspaper DerStandard

Most nuclear power plants are old and inefficient, and the nuclear waste problem remains unsolved. Could technical solutions make nuclear power fit for the future? Nikolaus Müllner and Friederike Frieß were asked about their take on the possible future of nuclear energy.

“Russia, however, has a different licensing practice than Europe. Chernobyl-type reactors are still in operation there”. – Nikolaus Müllner

“In addition, the incubated fuel must be extensively reprocessed before it can be used in normal nuclear power plants. “That means you need significantly more nuclear facilities, which increases the risk of proliferation, that is, the proliferation of the materials and technologies needed for nuclear weapons.” – Friederike Frieß
